Alden Mackey

Alden received his Bachelor of Arts at St. John’s College in Annapolis, MD, and Masters of Architecture from the University of Washington in 2015.  A Northwest native, Alden grew up on Bainbridge Island where he spent much of his time working on the maintenance and construction of wooden boats before attending college.  While at the University of Washington, Alden worked at the school’s fabrication labs and Center for Integrated Design.  His studies and design work focused on issues surrounding material and structural strategies, the use and design of public space, and architectural theory.  Having grown up on Bainbridge Island, Alden has a great understanding of island life and the vernacular architecture seen throughout PNW islands.
