Fort Worden Squares up to Begin Arts Complex

Signal continues the program Development Plan effort we started in 2015 with the kickoff of the Makers Square design charrette. Stakeholders and partners gathered with the team to refine the programming opportunities for the State Parks service corps buildings 305, 308, 324, and service yards. Most recently used as storage and housing for maintenance operations, the buildings in design now will serve as the catalyst in the transition from the historic fort that was built for war into the historic fort that will be used for arts and education.
“This is like being caught between the past and the future,” said Lynn Kessler, a member of the Fort Worden Coordinating Committee and a former state legislator.
