This award is presented by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, and is one of the nation’s most recognizable and long‑standing awards.

The jury commented: "The story of the landscape was really carried throughout the entire project, and this is something that the public district should be very proud of."

This award applies an engineering and design lens to the project, which are intimately woven together in the Station.
